Bellevue Law grows with hire of Georgina Calvert-Lee
Bellevue Law has hired employment and equality specialist barrister Georgina Calvert-Lee as its latest Senior Consultant.
Georgina advises on a wide range of both contentious and non-contentious employment law issues, but brings particular expertise in discrimination, harassment and personal injury claims, both within and outside the employment sphere.
She has represented clients in landmark cases relating to the use of non-disclosure agreements, non-consensual sharing of intimate images and sexual misconduct, and is a well-known adviser within the education sector. Together with the 1752 Group, Georgina was responsible for publishing proposed guidance for the university sector on handling allegations made by students of staff sexual misconduct.
Since training as a barrister over 20 years ago, Georgina has worked for the international law firm of Coudert Brothers in Washington DC before joining Sonnenschein, Nath and Rosenthal in Chicago and then heading the UK practice of McAllister Olivarius in London.
Georgina said: “I’m delighted to be joining Bellevue Law, a firm which shares my values of providing the highest quality of advice and service and promoting equality and ethical business practices.”
“I’m looking forward to helping Bellevue Law’s employment law clients, and have already been warmly welcomed into its friendly culture by my new colleagues.”
Florence Brocklesby, founder of Bellevue Law says of Georgina’s appointment:
“We’re very happy that Georgina has joined our team, bringing a depth of knowledge and skills in the discrimination and harassment field which will hugely benefit our clients. Her track record of advising employees, students, universities and employers on matters of employment law and discrimination speaks for itself.”
