Bellevue Law Associate Chloe Grant has recently written for The Well Crowd on an issue that continues to rise up the corporate agenda: workplace wellbeing and its legal implications.

Across the UK, wellbeing concerns increasingly intersect with employment law. When issues such as stress, burnout or unmanaged health conditions aren’t addressed properly, they can quickly escalate into legal claims including discrimination, failure to make reasonable adjustments, constructive dismissal and even health and safety breaches. Employers are expected not only to recognise early signs of harm but also to respond in a way that is consistent, well‑documented and aligned with their policies.

In her article, Chloe highlights why wellbeing can no longer be seen purely as a cultural initiative. It is now closely tied to governance, risk management and compliance and employers who fail to bridge the gap between policy and practice may find themselves exposed.

She also outlines practical steps organisations can take to strengthen their approach, including equipping managers to identify early warning signs, ensuring promises in wellbeing policies are deliverable, and documenting decisions clearly.
