Pauline McArdle

Pauline specialises in employment law. She was originally called to the bar in 1986, and subsequently requalified as a solicitor in 1991 whilst working for City law firm Norton Rose. In 1994, she joined Denton Hall (now Dentons), a leading international firm. She became a partner in 1999 and subsequently headed up the Employment team.

In almost 35 years of experience of contentious and non-contentious employment law, Pauline has acted for a wide range of employer and employee clients in the private and public sector. These have included central and local government departments, a major investment bank, a leading concert venue, a large supermarket and numerous individuals in the media, legal, energy, arts and financial services sectors.

Pauline acts for both employers and employees and has extensive experience of advising clients in the financial services, legal, energy and media sectors. 

Her experience includes acting for employees with sex and age discrimination claims, advising senior employees and partners on their rights and obligations on exit and in their new roles and advising on the UK employment law rights of individuals based abroad. 

More recently, Pauline has:

Advised a prominent media figure on their employment status, unfair dismissal rights and a substantial claim for historical unpaid holiday.

Been negotiating an exit for a senior executive including advice on enforceability of restrictive covenants following a breach of contract, unfair dismissal and his rights in respect of his shareholding.

Been negotiating an exit strategy for a senior executive with over 40 years service including advice on age discrimination and unfair dismissal.

She has also advised employer clients on disciplinary action and the enforcement of restrictive covenants.
